About Michael Jonn
I am a native of Bucks County, the fourth generation on what was the family farm. Stone farmhouses and barns are in my blood. I grew up with a respect for the natural world; I strive to bring that to my designs. I am versed In the construction trades, though I confess I’ve never hung wallpaper. I enjoy design-build, I am a hands-on designer. I’ve been involved with what I call Environmentally Conscious Design since the mid-1980’s. I bring these principles to my designs to the extent my clients are comfortable; from an energy efficient light bulb to being off-grid. I use recycled materials and architectural antiques where feasible.
I did my first set of drawings you could actually build a house from when I was 15. My Architecture degree is from Penn State; I was first licensed as a Realtor in 1983 and as an Architect in 1985, though I currently don’t practice Real Estate. I have been self-employed since 1990. As I design a project, I think about how I would build it. I’ve worked on a range of projects; I feel this gives me a solid foundation for my next project.
Over the years I’ve studied many traditions: raised catholic, I’ve been involved with Native American spirituality, Buddhism, Peruvian shamanism, Rosicrucian beliefs, a Course in Miracles and others. Sacred Geometry and Earth energy are very important to me. I bring what I’ve learned to my work. My intention is to have happy clients. My job is to take the information, dreams, desires and budget you’ve given me and translate them into a form that can be built. I enjoy having my clients be a part of the design process. I look forward to working with you.
